Factory Renewable Energy Alternative is leader of the consortium which was awarded the project development FREeSUN.
FREeSUN The project includes the study of a system based on concentrating solar thermal power technology (CSP Concentrated Solar Power), or the reflection of sunlight by mirrors Fresnel type.
The consortium is coordinated by FERA is made up of companies (IMAT SpA, the Group Marcegaglia and Almeco SpA, sdi Industrial Automation Srl, Xeliox Srl, Turbocoating SpA, DNA Engineering), universities and research centers (CNR, Politecnico di Milano, Università degli Studi Genoa, University of Catania, University of Florence).
Companies and research institutions of the consortium is mainly engaged in development of basic components of the system, while FERA will be responsible for designing and implementing its industrial plant.

FREeSUN The project aims to achieve three objectives:

- The development of solar thermal technology with low cost implementation
- Construction of a plant for the production of electricity up to 1 MW
- Creation of a chain of Italian Industrial Development CSP systems.
